YOUR FOUNDATIONAL ASSESSMENT

The full foundation.
With more insight.

Start with the same comprehensive medical and movement assessment, dedicated time with your GP and a practical plan for what comes next.

01 / MEDICAL

Initial medical consultation

45 minutes with your GP

What we cover

Your health history, current concerns, family history and goals, with time to ask questions.

What happens

Your GP carries out your medical assessment and ECG, and arranges personalised blood testing.

What comes next

Together, you agree on the next assessment steps. Your GP confirms whether the Plus imaging is appropriate for you.

02 / MOVEMENT

Movement & body composition

45-minute Foundational appointment

What we assess

Your movement, mobility, aerobic fitness and body composition, to build a clearer picture of your starting point.

What happens

An exercise physiologist guides your movement and submaximal fitness assessment. You also have a DEXA body composition scan and health measurements.

How it helps

Your findings help shape practical movement priorities and your personalised health plan.

03 / YOUR PLAN

Your results & comprehensive plan

A further 45 minutes with your GP

What we review

Your medical, blood, movement and scan findings, brought together with your health history and goals.

What happens

Your GP explains the findings, answers your questions and helps you agree on the priorities that matter to you.

What you leave with

Clear health goals and a comprehensive personalised plan, with 12 months of Phoenix app access to keep your next steps close at hand.

THE PLUS DIFFERENCE

A closer look at your heart health and fitness.

01 / FITNESS

VO2 max & your training plan

Supervised fitness test · Personalised plan

What it measures

How much oxygen your body can use during increasingly demanding exercise—a measure of your aerobic fitness.

What happens

You complete a supervised exercise test while your breathing and response to exercise are monitored.

What you leave with

A personalised running and cardiovascular training plan, so your result becomes practical guidance for how to train.

02 / IMAGING

CT coronary calcium score

A few minutes of scanning · Low-dose radiation

What it looks for

Calcium build-up in the arteries supplying your heart. This is a sign of coronary artery disease and helps your GP assess your future heart attack risk.

What happens

Small stickers on your chest track your heartbeat while you lie in the scanner and briefly hold your breath. No contrast injection is needed.

Keep in mind

A score of zero is associated with lower risk, but does not rule out disease. Soft, non-calcified plaque is not measured, and the scan does not show how narrow an artery is.

03 / IMAGING

Carotid Doppler ultrasound

20–30 minutes · No ionising radiation

What it looks for

Plaque, narrowing and changes in blood flow in the neck arteries that supply your brain. Narrowing in these arteries can be linked to stroke risk.

What happens

Gel is applied to your neck and a small handheld probe is moved gently over the skin to create images and assess blood flow.

Keep in mind

This examines the carotid arteries in your neck, not the arteries inside your brain or heart. Your GP interprets the findings alongside your history and other risk factors.

Your GP assesses whether the imaging is appropriate for you before arranging referrals. VO₂ max and imaging are additional appointments, coordinated with the team. Your results review is planned around the availability of your findings.
